The Council of Ministers provides BGN 4300000 for construction of forest roads. This will be a major priority in the work of the State Forestry Agency (Dag). 18 % of the funds will be invested in maintenance, repair, reconstruction and rehabilitation of forest roads, while the remaining amount will be spent on anti-erosion equipment, forestry equipment and repair of buildings. There are 32 proposed projects, 26 of which are technically finished and 5 were developed to the extent of the technical task. The repair of roads will provide access to many sites. Implementation of the projects will stimulate economic development in different regions. The Agency has developed and anti-crisis program that is already in operation and is concentrated in the direction of reducing costs. President of the State Agency said that after the change of the Law for forests there are 178 structures established throughout the country, 37 of which are state hunting grounds, and 141 are forestry. Another emphasis in the work of the Forestry Agency will continue to be afforestation activities and prevention of forest fires.
